Good afternoon CFTP,You all have gotten me so excited for this year's Twas' The WOD Before Christmas 4! You wanna know why? We have 16 teams signed up so far from The Point!!! 16 out of the 56 teams signed up so far are Pointers! 32 of you all competing together against gyms around the area. It's been a while since we have seen such huge participation from our gym in local competitions and it makes me so happy to see you all challenging yourself outside of your everyday working out. I truly hope this is a sign of things to come and hopefully we see more and more of our peeps competing in CrossFit competitions in the future.A big reason I am excited about this, besides the obvious reasons that I get to watch you all kill it, is that you are committing to something and that commitment is going to drive you to be more consistent and in turn make you a fitter and healthier human being. You are committing to a competition during a period of time that historically I see a drop off in commitment to the gym. THE HOLIDAY SEASON!The Holiday Season is a killer of motivation when it comes to eating healthy and working out. Historically, as a gym owner, I notice that starting just before Halloween all the way through the New Year, people struggle to get into the gym. Not only do they struggle to get to the gym but they struggle to eat healthy. This is normal. We as a society place a lot of emphasis on these holidays and our traditions are built around good food and great desserts. There is nothing wrong with this, as long as it doesn't derail us from all the hard work and consistency we built up through the rest of the year.I want you all to commit to yourself that even during this busy holiday season, you will still make health and fitness a priority. Commit to consistency in the gym, 3-4 times a week. Commit to a balanced diet and consistent tracking of what you eat. Commit to keeping yourself within the habits that you have worked so hard to create. I know it isn't easy but luckily we have a community committed to healthy living to help support us as we make these commitments!Coach Dan
