Light at the end of the tunnel?
Update on reopening the gym. We are under the Salt Lake County Mayor's discretion but the White House has come out with phases of reopening and gyms are in phase one!
So, there is reason to be hopeful that there is a light at the end of the Covid-19 tunnel. I am sure there will be extra steps going forward even when we are open but as soon as we get the go ahead to open again, we will take those extra steps and get you all back into the gym. We are doing everything we can to expedite our return. Stay with us and thank you for your support as we are all going through this.

I finally figured out this challenge and I am super excited for it. I purchased a program for us called the 800 gram challenge. This will be run through the SugarWOD app and within this challenge you can earn 8 points a day. It provides a workout but our workouts will count as the workout of the day within this challenge.
I am going to add a couple of videos below that give you a quick overview of the challenge. When you access your SugarWOD account there will be a drop down where it says WorkoutoftheDay and 800gchallenge will be in its own tab.
Here's a little bit about the challenge... These videos are all accessible through your SugarWOD app:
In addition to the #800gchallenge, we will continue to earn points by the following actions:
Submit your week 3 Support Your Local Box score on the Games site - 10 Points
Join a zoom class - 5 points
Run at least 1 mile or walk 30 minutes or bike 3 miles - 1 Point
Post to social media - 1 point
New way- Have a non-Point-member friend join us in a zoom class - 5 points!
We will continue to run the running challenge but I want to add a challenge for all the bikers out there. We will go with total mileage again this week. So keep on running and/or biking! Prize will be $30 credit at the Point Fitness store! Two separate winners, Runner and biker. This one will run from Monday - Sunday.
Use this time wisely
Before you know it, we will be back to the grind. While we were all forced into this situation, we can approach it in a number of ways. I saw a really cool article/post that I just can't find again but I'll try and summarize it.
When your kid gets into high school they are going to be asked to write aa paper about the Corona Virus. They are going to come up to you and ask you to share your experience dealing with the this pandemic and we'll go on and on about how we were fearful about the economy, worried about our loved ones getting the sickness, fearful of the future and stressed out about how we are going to make ends meet. We will share the negative that we have all endured with this pandemic.
The parent will then ask, "You were alive during it. You can draw from your own experience... What do you remember about the Corona Virus Pandemic?"
The child will answer, "I remember having family dinners. Dad/mom wasn't traveling for work anymore and so we played games as a family every night. I remember doing fun videos as a family and learning new dance moves. I remember working on homework with you and you helping me get through my schoolwork. I remember playing out in the yard as a family and being together. Honestly, it was the best time of my life."
This pandemic is terrible in so many ways but let's try and step back and use this "mandated" time at home to create these memories not only for our kids but for ourselves.
Hang in there and as always, I am forever grateful for the support you all have shown. This business is what we use to live and survive and without your support during this time, I don't know what we would do.
