Good Afternoon CFTP,This past month has been fun to watch all the PRs go up as we have tested our one rep maxes on various lifts. It's awesome to see the hard work and dedication of all of you pay off. I know with dedication and consistency you all can progress not only through your strength but also as your skill on each individual lift gets more proficient.Every day when you come in we have a warmup, a strength WOD, and a WOD. After the WOD we try and leave enough time for all of you to cool down and do some mobility (this is one thing we are going to be more consistent with). Each portion of the workout is essential to your success in the box every day. If you skip even one of these it can have costly effects to you. For example, if you come in late and miss the warmup and go straight into the strength portion this can be a recipe for injury. Or let's say you come in late so you skip the strength WOD to warmup for the WOD and you do this everyday, well you are missing out on the period of time to hone in on your strength and to focus on your skill. In the long run this will leave you wondering why your numbers aren't going up like you think they should. Our programming is set up for the consistent athlete. We have it scheduled out in a way where those who consistently attend and dedicate their full hour to what we have planned will see results. If you are consistently skipping one or multiple portions of the workout you are are not setting yourself up for success; rather it is a recipe for failure.So in order to take full advantage of what we provide you must be sure to be on time to each class. That doesn't mean you just show up on time that means you are warming up as soon as you show up. If it takes you a little while to get changed or to throw on all your "armor" then get here a little earlier to make sure you have enough time to warmup and get ready for what the day is going to throw at you. In order for us as trainers to provide the extra time at the end of class for you to cool down we must start you all on time and get you going into the warmup.I know from time to time, especially with the way construction is going, you will be late and that is understandable. Just don't make it a habit. Our goal is to provide you with training that will make you stronger and set you up for success. We need your help to make this happen.
Now, onto a huge announcement... CrossFit Kids will now be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday!!! These will be the hours through the rest of the summer. If you have children 3-12 years old please bring them in and let them experience the confidence that can come from The Point. Let them come give it a try this week. This week will be a free trial for new kiddos. Another exciting thing will be starting this Monday and will run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday... We are bringing back the Teen class! It will be at 11 AM directly following the CrossFit kids class. So if you have any teenagers ages 13-18 bring them in this week to give it a try for free. I know they will love it!I can't wait for these kiddos to get active in an encouraging environment.Coach Dan
